Rootstrek London

On a beautiful day in October 2017, we arrived in London at about 8:30 am after traveling all night long. We took the underground subway to our accommodations (more about that later), dropped off our luggage, and were off to do a little sight-seeing.

We only had two days to spend in London, so we thought a Thames River Cruise might help us take in a lot of sights in a short amount of time.

During part of the cruise we practically had the boat all to ourselves.

Big Ben was getting a face lift.

We spent time in a considerable number of subway stations since that was our primary mode of transportation. The architecture in some of them was stunning.

The views from Sky Garden were spectacular. And it was free!

A stroll through Hyde Park the next morning took us past the Wellington Arch to Buckingham Palace. We just happened to be there during the changing of the Guard.

The British Museum (also free) houses all sorts of amazing antiquities from around the globe.
